| There is actually tremendous talent in the Chinese interior design business. Most of their work tend to go unnoticed in the English part of the world wide web. Recently a contact of mine from China mailed me some work he had seen from a design firm there called DYEast Design Consultants. From what I have seen so far, they seem to be just too good. | These living room layouts are designed with Laltrogiorno furniture system from Tumidei. The system come in Wenge, Canaletto Walnut, 12 colours of matt lacquer and in 8 colours of glossy lacquer. It's also self-standing which means it is not necessary to drill holes in the wall to fix the panels. The metal structure can be simply rested onto a wall in the home or used as a partition in a large room or between rooms in large open-space lofts. Everything that gives unlimited amount of opportunities while planing the living room. Any layout become possible. |

| A great example of innovative desert homes, this urban house in Tempe, Arizona, designed by architects Chen + Suchart Studio, illustrates the art of stacking styles, volumes and materials. The modern Sosnowski Residence in the Arizona desert features an earthy, neutral base with an ultra-modern industrial-style glass box that appears to hover overhead. Floor-to-ceiling panels of glass are held by a bold, black frame which makes the upper level really stand out against the sky. By night, a glowing, floating cube offers a peak at the cozy comforts inside. Interior architecture, like the exterior, is decidedly industrial in style, featuring brick walls, exposed ductwork and steel-paneled ceilings. Chen + Suchart Studio

| Stockholm based architecture firm RB Arkitektur designed this modern Swedish villa, a bunker style house, in its home town. Set on a gently sloping hillside, Villa UH1 is modeled on a WWII-era German bunker, and designed with all the contemporary comforts of home, and the added benefits of an eco house design. This contemporary residence is partially built underground, blending with its grassy surroundings and topped by an eco-friendly, moss-covered roof. Additional built-in sustainable systems include geothermal technology as an alternative energy source. That said, this modern Swedish villa has great aesthetic appeal, from its simple, sleek architectural accents inside, to its minimalist white palette and modern yet earthy finishes. The great shape of this house dictates its unusually shaped and placed windows, which flood interiors with lots of natural light – one more eco-friendly feature. | Located in an apple orchard in Sonoma County, California, the contemporary Orchard House by Anderson Anderson Architecture alternates cast concrete, galvanized steel and floor-to-ceiling glass for a truly unique design reflective of its surroundings. This modern home is prefabricated using a repeated modular framework and standardized SIPS sandwich panel and prefabricated truss framing components. This approach to design was two benefits – a highly adaptable design, and decreased construction costs. |

| Designed by UK-based architects PCKO in co-operation with MOFO Architects of Krakow, Poland, Jodlowa House is a modern glass home located on a picturesque plot just outside of Krakow's city limits. The single-storey home's fully glazed facade sits in a contemporary steel frame, which floats above the ground (so not only does this modern home showcase nature, but it's also designed to minimize its environmental footprint). Built right into the design, a mature tree adds yet another level of nature to the design. The windows too help to bring the outdoors in, flooding interiors with natural light. Behind these wide expanses of glass, an indoor swimming pool, two main bedrooms and a sprawling 140m2 living area provide unobstructed views of nature. But the best seat in the house for enjoying these vistas is from the five-storey tower. The tower's lower levels house guest accommodations, and are topped by a study that frames views of the Tatra Mountains on the distant horizon. PCKO Architects and MOFO Architects. |

| JH House by Bernardes Jacobsen Architecture is a luxury home, if ever there was one. Inspired by the world's hottest five-star resorts, this modern home in Sao Paolo, Brazil is a hidden oasis. Quietly concealed behind a green grass wall, this extravagant home boasts stone and wood for its exterior, with a spectacular outdoor living area at its heart. Palm trees reach high above the lap pool, which stands between the gorgeous poolside lounge and the glass-enclosed modern interior. Overhead, wood panels can be opened to reveal the sunny sky overhead. Interiors also boast these functioning shades, allowing for bright, naturally lit interiors while blurring the line between indoors and out. | It may be a pool house, but this cool 364m2 suburban Connecticut home could easily be the abode of choice. Designed by forward-thinking New York-based Hariri & Hariri Architecture, the Wilton Pool House idea is based on the principles of modern minimalism and a strong connection to nature. The pool house architecture is characterized by a long, angular archway of rich, Brazilian walnut wood that runs the length of the pool and folds over an outdoor seating area. The archway provides protection from the sun when lounging, swimming, or enjoying an al fresco meal.
